MKCSCC: Enrolment for academic year 2017-2018

FAO: [First Name] [Surname], [Class]

Dear Students and Parents,

The enrolment for academic year 2017-2018 is to start at 10am Sunday 4th June 2017. If you are a new student, you can download the enrolment pack from the school web site or use the link below. Alternatively, you can get a copy from the School Office.

http://www.mkchinese.org.uk/School-Enrolment-form.pdf

Please enrol at the enrolment desks, which are situated near the school's main entrance. Both cash and cheques are acceptable, but no card payment. Cheque should be made payable to Milton Keynes Chinese School and Community Centre.

For existing students, you are strongly encouraged to enrol online as you will receive £5 discount automatically. Judging from the experiences from previous two years, many parents and students found the process much easier and flexible than using papers. You can also avoid the long queue in the school, enrol at non-school days and help save the environment by not using paper. Within a few days, you will be individually sent the login details and a link to your school profile. The enrolment process requires you to check and correct any error of your details and choose the class you want to enrol to. Then you will be given the school's bank details. If you use online/mobile banking, you can make a bank transfer online with the student's name and number as reference. Alternatively, you can also make the transfer at your bank's branch. Once your enrolment information and payment is received and checked, we'll send you an email and confirm your place.

If you can't access to the Internet, please come to the school office and we will help you to enrol there. However, there may be a long queue requesting this service and you may need to wait for a long time. If you enrol at school, you will not receive the £5 discount.

Please note that if the class you want to enrol to is not a normal progression from your current class (e.g. from P1 to P3 or C1 to P2), you need to discuss with and get approval from the head teacher. Generally speaking students from a Cantonese class cannot move to a Putonghua class or vice versa. Existing students in Cantonese classes will not get any priority in enrolling to Putonghua Class 1, which is in great demand and places will be filled up very quickly. Places for classes will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Students wanting to enrol to an examination class (Class 11, 12 and 13), please check if your day school will enter you to the required examination before enrolling. We are not responsible for making these arrangements and cannot enter students to these examinations.

All existing students should enrol by Sunday 18th June 2017, or your school place will not be guaranteed and a £15 administration fee will be levied.

For any enquiry, please see us at the School Office.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

MK Chinese School

MKCSCC: Consideration for GCSE exam

FAO: [First Name] [Surname], [Class]

Dear Parents,

Teaching of Edexcel GCSE and GCE Chinese new specifications will commence from September 2017.

Next summer will be the final chance to participate in GCSE exams that follow current specifications, and your sons or daughters may be suited to either the current or the new specifications. In order to facilitate this decision, we will have an internal assessment on 4 June in P7-10 and C7-9 classes to enable us to plan GCSE teaching for the new school term.

On the same day, we would like to invite parents of these students for a meeting in Room A112 at 10:30. The main discussion will centre round the new GCSE and exam arrangement for the coming academic years. Please come and be on time.

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards
